The episode marked their first on-screen reunion since the India’s Got Latent controversy, and Ranveer’s playful dig referencing the past quickly caught fans’ attention online.
After the episode premiered on Netflix, Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, shared pictures with Kapil Sharma and Samay, thanked the host for inviting them, and posted a cheeky caption that appeared to reference the controversy that had led to the shutdown of Samay’s show. He later added an emotional note about his grandfather, who had spent his last few years watching The Kapil Sharma Show.

Sharing glimpses from the episode along with a picture of his grandfather, Allahbadia wrote, “Will their show be shut down now?”, a line that sparked a wave of humorous reactions online. He later wrote, “In all seriousness This moment is for my Grandad, who spent his last few years watching The Kapil Sharma Show. He would have been over the moon! Love you wherever you are, Dadda. Thanks for having us @kapilsharma (sic).”
In 2025, India's Got Latent faced intense backlash after Ranveer made obscene remarks to a contestant involving their parents. The comment triggered widespread outrage and resulted in legal action, with multiple cases registered against Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija, and Ashish Chanchlani. The uproar ultimately led to the show's removal from the platform.

During the episode, Allahbadia praised Samay Raina and said, “He has a very pure heart, and people should know that.” Kapil Sharma replied with a tongue-in-cheek remark, saying, “Yes, if you get someone’s show shut down and he still leaves you alive, his heart must be pure,” seemingly referencing the India’s Got Latent controversy, where Allahbadia’s joke had sparked widespread outrage.
