Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is currently gearing up for the release of Cocktail 2, has gone viral for a gracious airport encounter. A widely-shared video shows Shahid waiting in a queue before an elderly man insisted the actor move ahead to avoid a gathering crowd, a gesture that was praised online.
In the video, the elderly man is heard telling Shahid, "Sir, please go ahead as people will crowd you." The actor appears reluctant at first and gestures for the man to proceed before him, but the latter insists, following which Shahid finally moves ahead.
The clip soon prompted reactions across social media, with many users praising both the elderly man’s thoughtful gesture and Shahid’s polite response.
A fan commented, "Bhai ko uncle Ne respect Diya salute uncle ko (Uncle gave respect to Shahid, salute to uncle) (sic)." Other comments from Instagram users read, "Professional."
However, one user objected to the gesture and wrote, "But why ? Just bcz he is a celebrity (sic)."
Shahid was last seen in director Vishal Bhardwaj's revenge romance O'Romeo, inspired by true events. Set against the backdrop of unrequited love, O’Romeo featured Shahid and Triptii Dimri in a deeply emotional and turbulent narrative that explores passion, pain, and the irreversible consequences of love denied.
Nana Patekar, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, Aruna Irani, Vikrant Massey, and Tamannaah Bhatia also played key roles in the film. O'Romeo theatrically released on February 13, 2026.
Shahid will next be seen in director Homi Adajania's Cocktail 2. The film also features Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal characters.
Cocktail 2 is set for a theatrical release on June 19, 2026.
