Kangana Ranaut has strongly reacted to a viral meme on social media that attributed a controversial statement to her. According to the meme, Kangana is ready to marry Rahul Gandhi if he joins the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The actor termed the post as “pathetic fake news”. She also criticised the lack of dignity for women in politics, slamming attempts to pass off such misleading content as jokes.
How did the fake post start?
The controversy began after former AAP member Raghav Chadha’s entry into the BJP sparked online discussions about politicians changing parties. Soon, a meme page shared a fabricated comment allegedly made by Kangana Ranaut.
The fake post read, “Agar Rahul Gandhi BJP join karenge toh main unse shaadi karne ke liye tayar hoon (If Rahul Gandhi joins the BJP, I am ready to marry him)." The post quickly gained attention, prompting Kangana to respond.
She reshared the meme on her Instagram story and strongly condemned it, writing, “How pathetic is this fake news. No dignity for women even in politics. Shame on those who are spreading this fake news (sic)."
Kangana returns in Queen 2
On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut is set to return as Rani in Queen 2, the sequel to the acclaimed 2014 film Queen. According to reports by Mid-Day, shooting is expected to begin by the end of April.
Vikas Bahl, maker of Queen, will direct the sequel, too. Queen 2 has long been in development and is expected to continue exploring themes of self-discovery. The narrative of the sequel is said to revolve around a new phase of Rani's personal growth, triggered by a significant life event.
