Reunion alert: Kareena Kapoor to star opposite Salman Khan in superhero film?
Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan is reportedly in talks to star opposite Salman Khan in Raj and DK's untitled superhero film. If the deal is sealed, it will mark their first on-screen reunion since the 2015 hit, Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan is reportedly in talks to star opposite Salman Khan in his untitled superhero film directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, known as Raj & DK.
If the deal goes through, the film will mark Salman Khan’s first superhero project and reunite him with Kareena on screen for the first time since their 2015 hit, Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Is Kareena in Salman's superhero film?
Kareena has not signed the film yet, but according to a Variety India report, she is in discussions for the lead role. The report said talks are moving in a positive direction and that she has responded enthusiastically to the role.
Salman is also believed to have personally reached out to her, which has helped move the conversations forward.
The development comes after earlier industry speculation linked actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu to the female lead's role. However, though there is no confirmation, current reports place Kareena as the main choice for the high-budget film.
Salman-Kareena: The past releases
If finalised, this will be Salman and Kareena’s fifth film together, and their first since Kabir Khan’s 2015 drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Their previous collaborations include Kyon Ki... (2005), Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009), and Bodyguard (2011).
About the upcoming film
The untitled superhero film is being produced by Atul Agnihotri in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers. It is being planned as a large-scale theatrical project. The story is said to move away from standard superhero tropes and feature Salman Khan as an ageing hero who is drawn back into action by unforeseen circumstances.
For Raj & DK, the film will mark a return to the big screen after their work in the streaming space with titles such as The Family Man and Farzi. It will be their first major theatrical release since 2017’s A Gentleman. Pre-production is already underway, with a strong focus on visual effects and technical scale.
The duo's current projects
The film is expected to go on floors in October or November 2026. Salman is currently busy with Vamshi Paidipally’s action drama, often referred to by its working title SVC63, which is slated for an Eid 2027 release. His other project, Maatrubhumi, has seen several delays and is still awaiting a confirmed release date.
Kareena's next film, the investigative thriller Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar, is expected to release later this year.
