Actors Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi have opened up about their unexpected love story, revealing how an unplanned pregnancy became the turning point in their relationship. The couple, who got married in an intimate gurudwara ceremony in 2018, shared that their daughter Mehr ultimately brought them together.
Speaking on comedians Bharti Singh and Harssh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, the couple reflected on their journey from friendship to marriage.
Angad revealed that he had been trying to impress Neha for nearly eight years before she finally said yes.
“I was after Neha for 8 years. I kept going after her all that time, but she never said yes, she was very busy,” he said.
The Pink actor also recalled the first time he saw Neha and admitted that he was instantly drawn to her.
Angad recalled being instantly smitten when he first saw Neha. He said he found her very beautiful and remembered watching her run on a treadmill, admiring her form and athleticism, which made a lasting impression on him.
The actor also shared that he once agreed to do a film with Neha without even hearing the script, simply to spend more time with her. However, things still did not progress despite getting along well with her family.
Their relationship eventually took a major turn when they discovered they were expecting their first child. Reflecting on that phase, Neha said their daughter became the reason they finally committed to each other.
“I want to say thank God we got pregnant, she is the blessing that brought the love story. Otherwise, you keep looking around. The love you're searching for is right next to you, but we always look far away. He was right there next to me the whole time,” Neha said.
“It was our daughter who got us together because we were pregnant, we were like, just do it. The whole universe came together first for him, then for me, then for us,” she added.
Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi welcomed their daughter Mehr in November 2018 and later became parents to their son Guriq in 2021.
