The 60-year-old actor also stated that the fake videos circulating online are not true and that his sister and brother-in-law have provided him with everything, urging people not to disturb their peace as they are the only family he has.

He also spoke about his simple lifestyle, saying it is a personal decision.

“My problem is I like to stay & wear simple and easy things, I wear simple clothes that’s my personal choice, my family has given me the best clothes possible but I wear simple clothes it’s my personal choice, i don’t take bodyguard that’s my personal choice, if I sometimes travel by auto it’s easy and quick it’s my personal choice (sic)," the actor wrote.

"I did those reels with simplicity not with clever thoughts, it was work and not any financial help to me, I always think work is work that’s my personal choice (sic)," he added.

Rahul added that he has been waiting for good work and is currently taking up available opportunities. He also said that he has personal court cases to handle and urged people not to trust or support any videos claiming to raise money for him. He asked people to verify any such claims only through his official account or those of his sister and brother-in-law, and not rely on any other sources.

All about the viral reels

The statement comes after several reels featuring him with content creeator Dr Vanita Ghadage Desai circulated online. One of the videos used the song Tere Dar Pe Sanam from the film Phir Teri Kahaani Yaad Aayi, in which he starred opposite Pooja Bhatt. While some users expressed concern, others criticised the videos.

Rahul Roy rose to fame with Aashiqui, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, where he starred alongside Anu Aggarwal. He was last seen in Agra, directed by Kanu Behl, which released in November 2025.
