Ssunita Ahuja left many surprised during her appearance on Laughter Chefs 3 after making a sharp remark about her husband, actor Govinda. The episode also featured an emotional reunion with Krushna Abhishek and Kashmera Shah, but it was Ssunita’s comment, which appeared to reference Govinda’s 2024 shooting incident, that drew attention.

During the show, Sunita took a dig at the actor, saying, “Kashmera, I want to tell you one thing, the man who respects his wife is a real hero. Jo ankhiyon se goli maarta hai, aur jab third party aa jaati hai toh ghutno pe goli maare (If there is a third party, he ends up shooting his own knee),” while dancing on the song Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare.

The remark left everyone on the show in splits, with Krushna appearing surprised.

Later in the same episode, when Kashmera said Krushna wanted to pair up with Nia, Ssunita responded with another quip. She said, “It’s their habit, that’s why they deserve to be shot. Here, I didn’t even shoot, yet I don’t know how it happened.”

For context, Govinda suffered an accidental gunshot injury at his Mumbai home in October 2024. His manager, Shashi Sinha, had said earlier that the actor was preparing to leave for Kolkata when his licensed revolver slipped from his hand while he was placing it in a cupboard, accidentally firing and injuring his leg.

Govinda addresses rumours

Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja’s marriage has been in the headlines for some time, with rumours circulating about their relationship, including speculation around their wedding and Govinda’s alleged involvement with another woman. In an interview with ANI, Govinda addressed the allegations and denied any wrongdoing. Responding to claims of an alleged relationship with another woman, he said he was uncomfortable with the public discussion around his personal life.

“The name that she is taking -- Komal -- I thank her. She is not saying a word against anyone,” Govinda said, adding that accusations had been made against him in the past as well. He also said he does not appreciate names being mentioned publicly and worries that such controversies could affect his professional relationships in the film industry.

Govinda and Sunita, who married in 1987, have two children, daughter Tina and son Yashvardhan.
