Pooja Hegde in talks for Allu Arjun-Lokesh Kanagaraj film AA23: Report
Pooja Hegde is reportedly in talks to join Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj's film, tentatively titled AA23. If confirmed, the project would mark her third collaboration with Allu Arjun after DJ and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
Actor Pooja Hegde is reportedly in talks to join Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming film, tentatively titled AA23 and also referred to as LK07. While the makers are yet to officially confirm the casting, reports suggest that Pooja is being considered for the female lead role in the much-anticipated project.
According to reports, Pooja Hegde is currently in discussions with the team for the role. If the collaboration materialises, it will mark her third film with Allu Arjun after DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Both films emerged as major commercial successes at the box office.
Pooja Hegde had previously worked with Lokesh Kanagaraj as well, albeit briefly. She made a cameo appearance in the song Monica from Coolie, starring Rajinikanth. The track was composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
AA23 is being described as a high-scale action entertainer with Allu Arjun in the lead. The announcement teaser drew attention for its stylised presentation, with the actor seen wearing the signature silver kada (men's bangle) often associated with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s films, hinting at a Western-inspired action world. The film’s music and background score will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, marking his first collaboration with Allu Arjun. The recently released ‘23 Theme’, written by Heisenberg, also went viral on Instagram.
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s frequent collaborator and director Rathna Kumar described the film as “a proper pan-Indian film” because of its international appeal. The project has already generated strong buzz as it marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj.
On the work front, Allu Arjun will star next in Raaka, directed by Atlee. The film is expected to feature extensive CGI and VFX work. Deepika Padukone has been confirmed as the female lead, while Rashmika Mandanna is reportedly expected to play an antagonist. The music for the film is being composed by Sai Abhyankkar.
Pooja Hegde, meanwhile, will next be seen alongside Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, scheduled to release on June 5. She also has Jana Nayagan, Kanchana 4 and DQ41 in her upcoming line-up.
