Learning Telugu

Since Peddi marked his Telugu debut, Divyenndu said language was one of the biggest challenges during the shoot. He said, “Language is still a little tricky. You get used to it, so I had to mug up a lot of lines. But once you understand the meaning behind the lines, it becomes a little bit easier. But still, Telugu is not that easy. That used to give me sleepless nights.”

A film with many layers

Speaking about the scale and vision of the film, Divyenndu said he was struck by how much Peddi was trying to do within one story. He said, “I mean, it looked like a saga to me. It's just so many different things happening, so many different genres happening in one film. I was just so amazed and glad that it's all coming together so beautifully. I was just absolutely amazed by the whole thing.”

He also said the appreciation he received from his co-stars and team left him humbled. “They're just such wonderful people, both of them (Ram Charan and Buchi Babu), to just compliment me so beautifully. It was really humbling again,” he said.

On-set warmth and pressure

Reflecting on the atmosphere on set, Divyenndu said the film gave him the feeling of starting afresh as an actor. The actor expressed that working with the team was a deeply fulfilling experience because everyone shared the same energy and passion to create something fresh.

He added that despite spending years in the industry, the project made him feel like a newcomer again, constantly learning and discovering new things every day. Calling the experience refreshing for any artist, he said he truly enjoyed being part of it.

Divyenndu also spoke warmly about Ram Charan. “He's not different, actually. He's such a wonderful actor, just like a true actor, without any baggage, without any hoopla-hoos of the world, nothing. He was there every day, there was a give-and-take, there were compliments exchanged, and I think we did something really good together. The kind of comfort and warmth he gave me, I really cherish that,” he said.

On being part of a large film, the Peddi actor said there was naturally some nervousness, but an actor had to rely on craft and respect the trust placed in them. He said there is always a sense of nervousness and excitement before taking on a project, but training and experience helped him stay grounded. The actor added that the real pressure comes from wanting to honour the trust that people place in him.

He also reserved special praise for Buchi Babu Sana and said the director's warmth and acceptance as a co-artist rather than a director with a certain kind of baggage really stayed with him.
