Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP chief Ajit Pawar died on Wednesday, January 28, after his chartered Learjet 45 crashed while attempting to land at Baramati airport. The aircraft burst into flames, killing five people, including Pawar and his security personnel.

CCTV footage showed the jet breaking apart in an explosion, with only the tail section remaining. The Aviation Ministry said the aircraft had valid certification until 2026.
