Was justice subverted to remove Alok Verma as CBI chief?

Alok Verma has quit the Indian Police Service, a day after being removed as the Central Bureau of Investigation director.

Alok Verma's resignation capped a dramatic morning that saw Alok Verma refused to take charge as the director general of fire services and home guards. Alok Verma was shunted out to that post after being removed as the chief of the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Alok Verma was removed as the CBI chief on Thursday (January 10) evening by a select committee comprising Supreme Court Justice AK Sikri, PM Narendra Modi and Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.
