SRH vs LSG Highlights, IPL 2026: Rishabh Pant battles nerves, guides Lucknow Super Giants to win by 5 wickets
Hyderabad (SRH) vs Lucknow (LSG) Highlights, IPL 2026: Rishabh Pant took Lucknow Super Giants home to guide them to their first victory of the season. LSG beat SRH by 5 wickets.

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Indian Premier League 2026 match, where Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Lucknow Super Giants at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, April 5.
IPL 2026 Live: What's the reason behind Pooran's poor form?
Some interesting stats by Cricviz here regarding the form of Nicholas Pooran. Is the lack of international cricket what's been plaguing his batting?
IPL 2026 Live: Redemption for Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant is just relieved to see the chase through to the end.
SRH vs LSG Live: What have you done???
My head went down as I saw that Jaydev Unadkat is coming out to bowl the final over. Not exactly a guy that fills you with confidence. The management of overs needs to be looked at considering Harshal still had an over left and Liam Livingstone did not bowl a single over.
LSG Live Score: Pant takes on the pacers
Some fine work here by Rishabh Pant. Looks like he is looking to go the risk-averse way in this chase. The slow short balls initially troubled the batters early on but Pant is just finding the boundaries to take the equation much more in their favour
SRH vs LSG, IPL 2026 Live Score: LSG 128/4 in 16 ovs, (Rishabh Pant 47*, Abdul Samad 7*)
LSG need 29 off 24 balls
SRH vs LSG Live: Is LSG struggling to attack pacers too?
Now with Eshan Malinga back into the attack the question needs to be asked about why LSG are unable to attack the pacers. The spinners have been difficult to deal with that's fair but can't say the same about the pacers. The question is if this is inability or just different plans to play it out till the time-out.
IPL 2026 Live: Another one for the spinners
A brilliant move by the uncapped spinner. Shivang bamboozles Pooran here. Looks like the batter lost his balance there and Ishan Kishan made sure to capitalise here. Brilliant move here from the spinner.
SRH vs LSG Live: Spin is the way to go
Spin has been the way to go, and it has been fairly obvious since the start of the 2nd innings. Not sure why Ishan Kishan failed to spot this so far. Harsh Dubey picks up where he left off, and this time cleans up Ayush Badoni.
IPL Live: SRH down, but not out
Spin has been the key in this game. SRH have four at their disposal with Harsh Dubey, Shivang Kumar, Liam Livingstone and Abhishek Sharma. Wonder why they are not using them?
Shivang has come in to remove Aiden Markram but the pace barrage continues.
SRH vs LSG Live: When is Pant going to fire?
So far Rishabh Pant has yet to find his groove. He is taking his time, but the good thing is that he has time to play himself in. The question is if he can come in and get going?
IPL 2026 Live: Huh?
What even was that shot? Looked to go for the pull shot, but seems to have gotten the inside edge through the swivel. Goes past the keeper towards the fine-leg region here and LSG sneak in the single.
IPL 2026 Live: Big wicket for SRH
A comeback might be unlikely, but SRH needs to be focused on chipping away at LSG before time runs out. Eshan Malinga gets the wicket of Mitchell Marsh and in walks Rishabh Pant at No.3. This could be the perfect game for Pant to show his class and take the chase home.
SRH vs LSG Live: Dubey struggling for support
All that momentum in the first over has gone to waste now. Dubey is not having the support from the other end.
IPL Live: LSG's attacking charge begins
As expected, LSG are targeting the pacers here to get into their groove. Doesn't look like there is much for the pacers here at the moment. SRH need to pull a rabbit out the hat at this rate.
IPL 2026 Live: Harsh Dubey starts strong
Sensational start by Harsh Dubey to start things off. He is getting some turn out here. Both Marsh and Markram have opted to play it safe to start things off. Perhaps they would want to go after the pacers when they come in.
IPL 2026 Live Score, SRH 2/0 in 1 ovs (Markram 1*, Marsh 1*)
IPL 2026 Live: No Rishabh Pant as opener
Interesting twist from the LSG camp. Rishabh Pant does not come out to open despite calling it a 50-50 call earlier. Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh are back at the top, a pair that worked wonders last season. Feels like LSG want to go hard early and make this chase a quick one. Harsh Dubey starts with the ball and is already getting some turn, so this powerplay might not be as straightforward as it looks.
SRH vs LSG: Can Hyderabad defend 156?
Sunrisers Hyderabad will be a little gutted, because they had given themselves a real chance of getting to 180 or even more. The platform set by Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen was strong enough for a formidable total, but SRH somehow lost all momentum in the death overs. Lucknow Super Giants will feel 157 is very much chaseable, and they’ll take plenty of confidence from the way Klaasen and Reddy were able to score on this surface.
IPL 2026: Hyderabad losing momentum
Sunrisers Hyderabad have lost momentum again in the second half of their innings, with wickets falling at regular intervals. When Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy were at the crease, SRH looked well on course for 190 or even more.
But with both set batters departing in quick succession, the innings has stalled, and they are now just looking to somehow push towards the 160-run mark.
SRH vs LSG: What a knock from Klaasen
What an incredible knock this has been from Heinrich Klaasen, who has brought up a superb half-century off just 33 balls. Sunrisers Hyderabad have absolutely exploded at the death, smashing 97 runs in the last six overs. What a stunning acceleration from SRH — and right now, the LSG bowlers look completely out of answers.
IPL 2026: Klaasen, Reddy tee off
The rebuilding phase is well and truly over for Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy. The duo has now taken complete control, turning SRH’s innings into a tale of two halves. It’s Lucknow Super Giants who are under serious pressure now, with Sunrisers Hyderabad suddenly looking capable of pushing their total towards 190 — or perhaps even beyond.
SRH vs LSG: Sunrisers picking up
SRH have flipped the switch. After a sluggish first 10 overs that brought just 35 runs and four wickets, they’ve exploded back into the contest. Fifty-seven runs have come in the last four overs, and Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen are starting to look ominous.
LSG have to stop this surge quickly — because if they don’t, Sunrisers could rip the game away with a massive finish.
IPL 2026: Will Klaasen make LSG pay?
Mukesh Choudhary has put down Heinrich Klaasen in the deep, and that could just prove to be the turning point for Sunrisers Hyderabad. The partnership has already swelled to 47, and for the first time in this game, Lucknow Super Giants are looking just a little under pressure. With seven overs still to go, can Nitish Kumar Reddy and Klaasen now carry SRH closer to the 150-run mark?
SRH vs LSG: Reddy, Klaasen slowly rebuild
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen are trying to piece the innings back together, but SRH still have plenty of work to do before they can even think about a competitive score. However, 16 runs off Prince Yadav’s 11th over could be the spark they badly needed as they look to build momentum.
IPL 2026: What a spell from Shami
There was simply no stopping Mohammed Shami today. Ever since he got rid of Abhishek Sharma, he has given Sunrisers Hyderabad absolutely nothing to work with. Their innings has gone nowhere, and even getting to 120 from here will take an incredible effort.
Shami has been an absolute delight to watch — sharp, disciplined and full of intent. He looks pumped, hungry and determined to force his way back into the Indian team, and that intensity has been there in every ball he’s bowled today.
SRH vs LSG: Lucknow dictate terms in powerplay
The powerplay has gone decisively in Lucknow Super Giants’ favour, with Sunrisers Hyderabad looking all at sea. Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav have struck hard up front, and on a surface that seems a little slower than usual, SRH now need Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy to rebuild and drag them back into the contest.
Lowest powerplay (1-6 overs) total for SRH in IPL
- 14/3 vs RR, Pune, 2022
- 20/3 vs PBKS, Sharjah, 2021
- 21/3 vs RR, Hyderabad, 2013
- 22/3 vs LSG, Hyderabad, 2026*
- 24/4 vs MI, Hyderabad, 2025
IPL 2026: Abhishek equals embarrasing record
With that duck, Abhishek Sharma has now equalled the record for the most T20 ducks by an Indian batter in a calendar year. It’s his sixth of the year, drawing level with Rohit Sharma’s mark from 2018 and Sanju Samson’s tally from 2024.
SRH vs LSG: Shami in a zone of his own
Mohammed Shami has left Sunrisers Hyderabad absolutely shell-shocked. With a point to prove, the veteran quick has breathed fire so far, hitting the right areas relentlessly and giving the batters no room to settle.
Neither Abhishek Sharma nor Travis Head has been able to get on top of him, and SRH now desperately need someone to stand up and drag them out of this early slump.
IPL 2026: What a start for Shami
Mohammed Shami was right on the money in the very first over, and he got the reward he thoroughly deserved. Manimaran Siddharth then produced an absolute stunner at short third man, diving full stretch to his right to complete a sensational catch. Abhishek Sharma will be absolutely gutted — gone for a duck without troubling the scorers.
