Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s sensational run in the Indian Premier League has not only captivated fans in India but has also sparked admiration across the border in Pakistan. The 15-year-old batter, who has taken IPL 2026 by storm, is now being discussed by some of Pakistan’s most prominent cricket voices, with one popular TV personality joking that the youngster might have an “AI chip” installed in his bat.
Sooryavanshi has shown absolutely no signs of second-season blues in the tournament, continuing his fearless brand of batting with remarkable consistency. In just his first eight matches of the season, the teenage prodigy has already piled up 357 runs, establishing himself as one of the breakout stars of the competition.
His fearless strokeplay, range of shots, and composure against some of the best bowlers in the world have left many stunned. Among them was well-known Pakistani TV anchor and cricket analyst Nauman Niaz, who could not stop praising the youngster during a discussion on the show SmashHit.
“Think about it. What is this kid? Get his bat checked. Like WADA conducts dope tests, send him to a lab. He probably used an AI chip in his bat. He is unreal. What a player,” Niaz said while reacting to Vaibhav’s batting exploits.
Niaz went on to explain what makes the teenager so special, pointing out that his game is built more on timing and technique than brute strength.
“When you’re 18, your body builds muscle, biceps, and triceps. This one is just 16. He was born when Virat Kohli was a world champion. He doesn’t have the power game as much as he has technique. He is a wristy player, plus, if you look at this arc, he used the full 360 degree,” he added.
The praise reflects just how quickly Sooryavanshi has become one of the most talked-about young cricketers in world cricket. At an age when most players are still trying to break into junior sides, Vaibhav is dominating one of the toughest T20 leagues in the world and earning admiration from rival cricket nations as well.
