India Today Conclave South 2018: VVS Laxman predicts India will beat Australia 3-1

Indian cicket legend said at the India Today Conclave South 2018 that he is sure India will the Test series against Australia by a 3-1 margin.

When faced by a barrage of questions by consulting editor Rajdeep Sardesai a la 'rapid fire' style, Laxman was ever present with his prompt replies.

Laxman had no second thoughts while replying "Sourav Ganguly" when he was asked who was the best Indian captain he had worked under.

Laxman also said he would pick Rahul Dravid, his batting partner during the iconic partnership in the Kolkata Test, to bat for his life.

Pakistan great Wasim Akram is the toughest bowler he has faced and former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan is the best roommate he ever had.

When asked to choose between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, Laxman was quick to say that both the India greats are legends in their own right.

Laxman, who revealed that his parents had given him a five-year time period to achieve success in the sport, said he would have become a doctor - cardiovascular surgeon had he not made it as a cricketer.

Laxman labeled India and England as the favourites to win the 2019 Cricket World Cup in the Old Blighty. The batting great also ruled out the chances of him mimicking his former captain's shirtless celebrations if Virat Kohli's men go on to win the coveted title next year.
