Google usually launches its new generation of Pixel smartphones in August. The company is expected to follow the same launch timeline for the Google Pixel 11 and Google Pixel 11 Pro smartphones. As we are just a few months away from the launch, leaks around Google’s next-generation flagship Pixel phones are building excitement. Early reports suggest that the standard Google Pixel 11 may get a RAM downgrade, but other than that, both smartphones are expected to receive some substantial upgrades, even if they are not groundbreaking. Here is everything leaked so far about the battery, India pricing, camera, display, design, and launch timeline.

Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro to offer new design?

While Pixel smartphones stand out because of their design, Google has reportedly told people to expect a new Pixel design every two or three years. Earlier reports suggested that the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro will not get any major design changes this year, and leaked renders indicate that the basic design will remain the same. However, users can still expect a few small changes, especially around the bezels and camera bar.

On the front, leaks suggest the Pixel 11 could get a small bump in display specifications. Display brightness may receive a slight boost. While HDR brightness is expected to remain limited to 2,000 nits, peak brightness could increase by 100 nits to 3,100 nits.

For the Pixel 11 Pro, the display size is expected to remain the same at 6.3 inches, and it may continue to use the same LTPO OLED panels. However, there could be a slight increase in brightness, which may reach 2,450 nits in outdoor conditions.

At the back, the overall design is expected to remain largely unchanged, but there could be two notable differences. First, Google may drop the two-tone finish on the camera bar in favour of a more uniform all-glass design. Apart from this, leaks suggest Google could abandon the infrared thermometer on the back of the Pixel 11 Pro. Instead, the camera bar may house a Nothing Glyph-like RGB LED array called “Pixel Glow.” The feature has reportedly appeared in code from the Android 17 beta, though very little is known about it at the moment.

What about the camera?

Last year, Google added a telephoto camera to the Google Pixel 10. Reports suggest that camera upgrades on the Pixel 11 may not be very significant, but there could still be a new 50MP sensor, possibly for the main camera.

Leaks also say that both the primary and telephoto cameras on the Pixel 11 Pro are expected to receive new modules, with a possible 50MP sensor. The new camera sensors on both smartphones are expected to improve image quality and deliver sharper images, better zoom, and improved cropping.

Reports also hint that the new “Metis” Image Signal Processor chip. It will process all the raw data captured by the camera sensor and convert it into the final photo or video. This means users could see clearer photos, better low-light performance, faster image processing, improved AI-powered camera features, and smoother video recording.

Will gaming performance improve?

The upcoming Google Tensor G6 chip is expected to bring major upgrades to the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, especially in efficiency, AI processing, photography, and overall daily performance.

The Tensor G6 chip is expected to be built on TSMC’s 2nm process and could reportedly feature newer Arm CPU cores, including a high-performance C1-Ultra core. It may also come with upgraded components such as a new MediaTek modem, Titan M3 security chip, custom “Metis” image signal processor, and “Santafe” AI accelerator.

These changes are expected to improve camera quality, call performance, AI features, and battery efficiency. However, leaks suggest the chip may continue to lag in graphics performance because of its older PowerVR GPU, meaning gaming improvements could remain limited compared to Snapdragon-powered rivals.

Reports also hint that Pixel 11 may launch with 8GB RAM, while Pro models could still offer up to 16GB RAM due to ongoing memory shortages.

Is a bigger battery on the cards?

Leaks suggest the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro may not see major battery upgrades and could even ship with slightly smaller batteries than the previous generation. Reports indicate the standard Pixel 11 may feature a 4,840mAh battery, down from the Pixel 10’s 4,970mAh unit, while the Pixel 11 Pro could also get a reduced 4,707mAh battery.

However, the Tensor G6 chip, built on TSMC’s 2nm process, along with a new MediaTek modem, is expected to improve power efficiency and potentially offset the smaller battery size.

Google is also likely to retain fast charging features such as 45W wired charging, 25W Qi2 wireless charging, and Pixelsnap magnetic support. Users are also hoping these charging speeds expand to smaller Pixel models this year.

Launch timeline

The Google Pixel 9 launched on August 22, while the Google Pixel 10 arrived slightly later on August 29. Based on this launch pattern, it is expected that the next Pixel phone could also launch around the end of August, most likely during the last week of the month.

Google Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro India price: What to expect

The pricing of the upcoming Pixel 11 series remains uncertain, but reports suggest Google could increase prices because of the higher manufacturing costs associated with TSMC’s advanced 2nm chip process. Analysts believe the Pixel 11 could see a price increase over its predecessor due to rising manufacturing costs.

However, a higher price may make the lineup harder to justify, especially if the gap between the standard and Pro models remains relatively small despite the Pro variant offering better hardware and features. At the same time, the difference between the Pixel 11 and the more affordable A-series model could become much wider.
