Vivo X Fold 5 was released in India last year alongside the X200 FE. Now, its successor, the Vivo X Fold 6, is expected to launch in the coming months. Recently, a fresh leak has unveiled key details and design about the book-style foldable smartphone. The purported device is expected to roll out with notable upgrades compared to the existing mobile in terms of chipsets and camera setup.

What Could the Vivo X Fold 6 Offer

According to Tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X Fold 6 could come with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. If the rumour turns out to be true, it means a notable departure from the brand’s previous patterns, as the Chinese company has placed Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors in its X Fold lineup. For context, the Vivo X Fold 5 was launched with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The tipster claimed on Chinese social media, Weibo, that the Vivo X Fold 6 may feature a new design with more rounded corners, a flat display and a large circular camera module on the back. The alleged foldable is likely to sport a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

In terms of camera, the Vivo X Fold 6 may ship with a triple rear camera setup comprising a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. For context, the current Vivo X Fold 5 ships with a triple rear camera setup, with all three sensors resolving at 50MP — making any camera improvement on the X Fold 6 a meaningful step forward.

Earlier leaks suggested the Vivo X Fold 6 could feature a dual-cell battery configuration, with individual capacities of 3,915mAh and 2,845mAh, for a combined 7,000mAh. On the launch front, the X Fold 6 is anticipated to arrive around the same time as its predecessor, which debuted in India in July last year at Rs 1,49,999. As is typical with Vivo's foldable lineup, a China launch is expected first, followed by a rollout to global markets including India.
