A stunning video captured from the cockpit of an IndiGo flight has left social media users mesmerised after showing the glowing India-Pakistan border illuminated against the darkness of the night sky.

The viral footage was shared by Captain Pradeep Krishnan, who recorded the rare aerial view during a late-night flight. Seen from cruising altitude, the border appeared as a long, brightly lit line stretching across the landscape, sharply separating the two countries amid otherwise dark surroundings.

In the clip, Captain Krishnan can also be heard addressing passengers over the aircraft announcement system. “Ladies and gentlemen, if you look outside the aircraft, you might capture a glimpse of one of the most sensitive, heavily guarded borders of the world, India and Pakistan border,” he says.

The visuals highlighted parts of the Radcliffe Line — the international boundary between India and Pakistan established during Partition in 1947. Due to heavy security deployment and floodlighting in several sensitive sections, parts of the border often appear visibly illuminated from high altitudes during night flights.

The video particularly captured viewers’ attention because of the surreal contrast created by the continuous yellow floodlights cutting through vast stretches of darkness. Border outposts, security installations, and patrol infrastructure on both sides added to the dramatic visual effect.

“They say you can spot the India–Pakistan border from space at night, a glowing line of lights cutting across the darkness, visible even from orbit,” read the caption shared along with the clip.

The footage quickly spread across social media platforms, with thousands of users reacting to the rare view. Many people described the visuals as breathtaking and said they had never seen the border from such a perspective before.

Several users also reflected on the emotional and historical significance of the boundary, commenting on how ordinary people on both sides remain separated by politics and history.

At the same time, the comments section also saw lighter reactions, with some users jokingly asking who was paying the electricity bill for the massive floodlights visible along the border.
