Noida residents line up with buckets as water shortage hits society. Video is viral
Residents of a Greater Noida society complained of a two-day water shortage as people were seen lined up with buckets to collect water.

A Greater Noida resident has called out a two-day water shortage in his society, questioning the lack of basic amenities in so-called premium housing.
The issue came to light after a resident shared a video from Panchsheel Greens II in Greater Noida, where households reportedly went without water for two consecutive days. In the clip, posted on Instagram by Aadhar Mehrotra, a water tanker can be seen stationed inside the society, arranged as a temporary solution to the shortage.
Narrating the situation, the resident says, “Water scarcity in our society. Super maintenance. A tanker has been called for water. There was no water yesterday, and no water today,” highlighting the inconvenience faced by those living in the complex.
“Builder ne sapne beche, reality mein paani tak nahi! (The builder sold dreams, but in reality, there isn’t even water),” Mehrotra said. The remark points to the disconnect between the lifestyle promised at the time of purchase and the basic services available to residents.

The clip quickly gained traction online, drawing responses from people who said such problems are not uncommon in residential societies across Noida and nearby areas. Several users noted that despite paying regular maintenance charges, residents often struggle with issues related to water supply, electricity, and incomplete infrastructure.
For many, the video struck a familiar chord. It reignited concerns about accountability and the lack of consistent basic services in high-rise developments that are often marketed as premium living spaces.
While the immediate issue in this case was addressed through tanker supply, the larger question raised by residents remains: why do essential facilities falter in societies where people are already paying for upkeep?
