A video of Vijay, chief of Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), abruptly getting off his bicycle and rushing towards his security vehicle after a brief scare during a campaign rally has gone viral on social media.
The incident occurred in Kanyakumari, where Vijay was campaigning amid a large crowd. In the clip, he is seen riding a bicycle through supporters before suddenly dismounting and moving quickly towards his security after a ball of flowers was thrown towards him.
The sudden movement triggered brief confusion, with security stepping in amid fears of a possible threat. Officials later said the flower ball was likely thrown as a gesture of support.

The incident comes as Vijay ramps up campaigning for his electoral debut in Tamil Nadu, where voting across all 234 constituencies is scheduled for April 23.
With limited time to cover every constituency, TVK has been deploying life-sized 3D holograms of its chief at campaign events.
Earlier this week, TVK’s Kumbakonam candidate Vinoth Ravi deployed a life-sized 3D hologram of Vijay to connect with voters.
The high-definition digital projection of the TVK chief appears alongside the local candidate, delivering a synchronised speech from a campaign vehicle. Visuals from the ground show the “Hologram Vijay” creating the illusion of a physical presence, drawing significant crowds.
The party has also experimented with mannequins and lookalikes in some constituencies as part of efforts to maintain his visibility on the ground.
