US-Iran Talks Live: Explosions reported near Bandar Abbas in Iran

Multiple explosions were heard in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas under unclear circumstances, according to Iran’s official IRNA news agency.

The semi-official Mehr news agency reported that the situation was under control and there was no cause for concern.

Tasnim news agency said around three explosions were heard, while the Fars news agency reported similar sounds near Sirik and Jask, close to the Strait of Hormuz.

Seven people were killed and several others injured in a series of Israeli air strikes across southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA).

The agency reported that an air strike on Machghara killed five people, wounded several others and left rescue teams searching through the rubble of targeted homes for survivors.

In a separate strike on Kouthariyeh el-Siyad, two people were killed and two others injured.

Israeli warplanes also carried out two successive raids on the city of Nabatieh, along with additional strikes targeting Chmait and Rachaf in the Bint Jbeil district.

The Israeli military said it struck more than 70 Hezbollah targets across Lebanon over the past 24 hours, including command centres and weapons depots in the southern city of Tyre. According to the IDF, more than 85 munitions were used in the attacks, which targeted infrastructure allegedly linked to planned attacks on Israeli troops and civilians. The military also said Hezbollah operatives riding motorcycles were killed in separate strikes in southern Lebanon.

Qatari mediation has helped secure an understanding between the United States and Iran over Tehran's frozen financial assets, a source familiar with talks in Doha told Al Jazeera on Monday. The source added that the breakthrough on one of Iran's key demands has significantly increased the chances of a wider US-Iran agreement being announced as early as Tuesday.

US President Donald Trump paid tribute to American troops killed during the Iran conflict while speaking at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, vowing that Tehran would "never have a nuclear weapon". Referring to "Operation Epic Fury", Trump honoured the 13 US service members killed in the campaign and said their sacrifice ensured that "the world's number one state sponsor of terror will never have a nuclear weapon." He added: "They will never have a nuclear weapon."

The Israeli military said it has launched strikes on Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon's eastern Bekaa Valley and other parts of the country, shortly after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered an escalation in attacks against the group. The announcement signals a widening Israeli campaign as cross-border tensions with Hezbollah continue to intensify.

After nearly three months of isolation from the global internet, Iran is finally preparing to reconnect. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has ordered the restoration of international internet access across the country, according to Iranian state media reports on Monday.

State-linked media outlets, including Mehr News Agency and ISNA, reported that Pezeshkian approved a plan to restore internet access after a high-level meeting involving Iran's Cyber Space Steering and Organizing Headquarters. Oman's Sultan Haitham bin Tariq held a phone call with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Monday to discuss bilateral ties and ongoing regional developments, according to Qatar's Amiri Diwan. During the call, the Omani leader reportedly praised the emir's role in the current regional crisis and his efforts to support dialogue and peaceful solutions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued messages of support to Lebanon's parliament speaker Nabih Berri and Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem on the anniversary of "Resistance and Liberation Day", marking Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000. Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran's backing for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, while praising the country's "resistance" against Israel.

The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said there would be "no surrender or retreat" in a published message, signalling Tehran's continued defiance amid ongoing regional tensions and pressure linked to negotiations with the United States. The remarks reinforced Iran's position that it will not back down under military or political pressure.

Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health said at least 3,185 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since the country entered a state of open war with Hezbollah on March 2. The latest figures come as cross-border fighting and Israeli strikes continue to intensify across southern Lebanon and other parts of the country.

The Israeli military said it killed a senior Hamas operative involved in weapons production during an air strike in central Gaza on Sunday. Saudi Arabia will not normalise relations with Israel unless there is an "irreversible pathway" towards the creation of a Palestinian state, a Saudi source told CNN after US President Donald Trump suggested Middle Eastern nations should recognise Israel, linking it to part of a future Iran deal. The source said Riyadh's position remains unchanged despite renewed US pressure for broader Abraham Accords expansion.

Amid Middle East conflict, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Mexico agreed to host Iran's national football team during the upcoming World Cup after the United States reportedly declined to do so. Iran's football federation has said the team will base itself in the border city of Tijuana during the tournament.

The Israeli military said two explosive drones launched by Hezbollah crashed inside northern Israel near the Lebanon border after sirens sounded across several communities on Monday. The IDF said no injuries were reported. It also said the Israeli Air Force intercepted a Hezbollah rocket launched towards Israeli territory shortly afterwards.

Israeli air strikes targeted several areas in southern Lebanon on Monday, including al-Rashidiyya in the Tyre district, shortly after the Israeli military issued forced displacement orders for the area, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency. Separate strikes also hit Burj Shemali and villages in the Bint Jbeil area, while attacks in Doueir reportedly killed three people. Authorities have not yet released details on the full extent of the damage or casualties.

India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held a phone call with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi to discuss recent regional developments and review bilateral cooperation between the two countries, according to MEA statement. The talks come amid heightened tensions across West Asia.

A Hezbollah drone struck the northern Israeli border community of Shomera on Monday, detonating near a school bus stop, according to Hebrew media reports. Images shared online showed damage to the bus stop located along the community's main road. No injuries were reported in the incident.
