US-Israel-Iran War Highlights: Trump says Iran agrees it will never have nuclear weapons

UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said she is “deeply concerned” the Iran war is pulling focus away from Gaza peace efforts and rising violence in the West Bank, warning the wider Middle East conflict could disrupt progress on the 20-point plan.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said it targeted Israeli military satellite systems, striking reception stations with missiles and drones in what it described as the 79th wave of its ongoing operation, according to state-linked media.

Iran has told global maritime authorities that “non-hostile vessels” can pass through the Strait of Hormuz, while warning that ships linked to the US, Israel or other parties involved in the conflict will not qualify for safe passage, according to the Financial Times.

US President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 36%, the lowest in his second term, a Reuters/Ipsos poll shows, as rising fuel costs and growing opposition to the Iran war weigh on public sentiment. Support for US strikes has also fallen.

A written order from the Pentagon for the deployment of a unit consisting of 3,000 US troops to the Middle East is expected in a few hours, reports the Wall Street Journal citing two unnamed US officials. The troops will be drawn from the US Army's elite 82nd Airborne Division and will be tasked with supporting the ongoing campaign against Iran, they said.

Multiple missiles were intercepted over Lebanon, according to the country's official media. 

It was not immediately clear as to what the intended target of the projectiles was or how they were intercepted.

Notably, the Lebanese military lacks air defence systems.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said that explosions heard north of Beirut in the Keserwan district were caused by interceptor missiles, and that missiles fell in the town of Faitroun and in the mountain village of Baskinta.

Associated Press journalists reported minor damage to buildings and a wall in the Sahel Alma area on the coast north of Beirut. No casualties were reported.

When asked about the possibility of the US participating in talks in Pakistan for the resolution of the ongoing conflict with Iran, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement that "these are sensitive diplomatic discussions and the US will not negotiate through the press."

"This is a fluid situation, and speculation about meetings should not be deemed as final until they are formally announced by the White House," she said.

UAE's defence ministry says personnel killed in Iranian attack on Bahrain was a Moroccan civilian contractor.
