Defining images: Taliban set amusement park on fire; Afghan women hold protest; more

Videos and photos emerging from Afghanistan show the country slipping into chaos after the Taliban captured power within weeks of its onslaught as President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.

A new video has emerged which shows an amusement park in Afghanistan set ablaze by Taliban. In the latest video doing the rounds on social media, an entire amusement park is seen burning with massive flames covering the area at night. A Twitter user said that the reason cited by the Taliban for burning down the amusement park is that there are statues and idols inside the park, which are against Islamic practices.

Meanwhile, a group of women reportedly held public protest and demanded equal rights on the streets of Kabul as Taliban fighters looked on. The women placards demanding their rights, including social security, right to work, right to education and right to political participation while they are being surrounded by the Taliban fighters.
