An India Today ground report by Pranay Upadhyaya from Haifa, Israel, provides an exclusive look inside the city's underground multi-agency command centre as it manages dual attacks from Hezbollah and Iran. Located deep beneath the municipal corporation building, this coordination hub serves as the nerve centre for Haifa's emergency response.
The facility features a detailed digital map and a massive wall of hundreds of CCTV cameras monitoring critical infrastructure, including the strategic Haifa port, oil refineries, hospitals, and the Mediterranean coastline. The report highlights that the Haifa oil refinery remains operational despite being targeted twice in 37 days.
According to the city administration, approximately 100 houses have been damaged during the conflict, though most have already been repaired. The command centre also monitors incoming projectiles and coordinates with the IDF Homefront Command and emergency services to minimise damage in the city, which holds significant economic importance and has historic and investment links with India.

This edition of Postmortem turns the spotlight on crimes that both shock and compel closer scrutiny, unpacking not just the act but the larger patterns behind it. In today's episode, the focus is on a chilling knife attack in Mumbai, where a man allegedly carried out a violent assault while claiming links with ISIS. The incident has raised fresh concerns about the persistence of extremist influence and the vulnerability of individuals to radical ideologies. The episode goes beyond the crime itself, examining the broader trend of radicalisation among young men. It explores how online propaganda, social isolation, and ideological manipulation can create pathways that lead individuals towards extremism. Postmortem also takes a closer look at how law enforcement agencies across India track and respond to such threats. From intelligence gathering to coordinated surveillance networks, the programme highlights the mechanisms used by police to identify early signs of radicalisation and intervene before violence unfolds.
