Police enter UCLA campus at night to remove pro-Palestine encampments

After nightfall on Wednesday, hundreds of police officers arrived at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to dismantle a pro-Palestinian protest camp. 

The encampments had been targeted by pro-Israel supporters the previous night.

Over 100 police officers lined up near the encampment at the Los Angeles campus and ordered the protesters to leave. However, the protesters resisted the police force by chanting "We are not scared". Withing minutes of arriving the UCLA campus, the police was able to breach the encampments set by the protesters and detained several of them. 

The anticipated crackdown at UCLA represents the most recent flare-up in escalating tensions on college campuses across the United States, where protests against Israel's actions in Gaza have sparked conflicts between students, university officials, and law enforcement.
