Bajaj Auto has rolled out a comprehensive update to its electric scooter lineup, introducing a new ‘C Series’ nomenclature along with a suite of feature, performance and connectivity enhancements across the range.

As part of the rejig, the Chetak portfolio will now be offered as C 35, C 30 and C 25 series, marking a structured evolution of the brand’s electric mobility lineup. The updates aim to improve everyday usability while adding more value through features that were previously optional.

At the top of the range, the flagship C 35 01 gains integrated Google Maps navigation via the Chetak App, addressing customer demand for a more familiar and seamless navigation interface. The model also sees a bump in performance, with motor output increased from 4.5kW to 4.8kW, alongside a higher top speed of 80kmph.

Performance improvements extend across the lineup. The C 35 01 and C 35 02 now offer a top speed of 80kmph (up from 73kmph), while the C 35 03 and C 30 01 can reach 70kmph (previously 63kmph). The newly introduced C 25 01 delivers a top speed of 60kmph, up from 55 kmph, making the range more usable in real-world riding conditions.

Charging efficiency has also been improved, with the C 30 01 now achieving a 0–80 per cent charge in 2 hours and 55 minutes, down from 3 hours and 50 minutes.

In a notable shift, features such as ride modes (Eco and Sport) and hill-hold assist are now standard on the C 35 and C 30 series, rather than being offered as paid add-ons. This move is expected to enhance rider convenience while simplifying the buying decision.

Select variants, including the C 35 01 and C 35 02, will also support over-the-air (OTA) updates, allowing owners to receive software upgrades, performance optimisations and new features remotely without visiting a service centre.

Commenting on the development, Eric Vas, President of the Urbanite Business at Bajaj Auto, said the new C Series represents a meaningful step forward for the Chetak brand, combining improved performance with enhanced connectivity and built-in convenience features.

With these updates, Bajaj Auto is positioning the Chetak range as a more feature-rich and competitive offering in India’s fast-evolving electric scooter segment.
