Stranger Things: Tales From '85 renewed for Season 2 days after Netflix debut
Netflix has renewed Stranger Things: Tales From '85 for a second season five days after its debut. The quick pickup extends the animated spin-off that bridges seasons two and three of the flagship series.

Netflix has quickly backed its latest expansion of the Stranger Things universe. The streamer has renewed the animated series Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 for a second season, just five days after its premiere on April 23.
Set between Seasons 2 and 3 of Stranger Things, the animated spin-off explores a previously unseen chapter in Hawkins, placing familiar characters in a new storyline.
According to the official logline, the story unfolds in the winter of 1985, when Hawkins appears to have returned to normal. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Max are back to everyday life – filled with Dungeons & Dragons sessions, snowball fights and quiet routines. But beneath the surface, a new threat begins to stir, forcing the group to confront another mystery that could once again put the town at risk.
Unlike the live-action series, the original cast does not reprise their roles in the animated version. Instead, the show features a new voice cast, including Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Luca Diaz, Braxton Quinney, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, Elisha Williams, Ben Plessala, Brett Gipson, Jeremy Jordan and Alessandra Antonelli. Actors Odessa A'zion, Lou Diamond Phillips and Janeane Garofalo also lend their voices to key characters.
The series has been developed by Eric Robles and Jennifer Muro, with Robles also serving as showrunner and executive producer. Stranger Things creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are attached as executive producers under Upside Down Pictures, alongside Hilary Leavitt. Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen also executive produce, with Flying Bark handling animation.
Tales From ’85 made its debut at number seven on Netflix’s weekly Top 10 English-language TV chart for April 20–26. The show recorded 13.8 million hours viewed, translating to approximately 2.8 million views based on its total runtime.
