Ektaa Kapoor reacts after Naagin 7 blue screen goof-up gets trolled

Ektaa Kapoor has responded after Naagin 7 drew criticism over an apparent editing error in a recent episode, where viewers pointed out how an unedited VFX shot with a visible blue screen was aired. The show, led by Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, quickly went viral on social media as users shared memes and comments about the scene.

Addressing the issue, Ektaa reposted a meme on her Instagram Stories and reacted with humour. The post referred to the editing mistake and showed a scene in which a Naagin transforms into a dragon and breathes fire. Its caption read, "Ekta Ma'am on her way to the office from Thailand after yesterday's Naagin blue screen mistake by the editors (sic)." Ektaa reshared it and wrote, "Eggjacctlyyy (Exactly)."

The online reaction began after several users shared a screenshot from an episode of Naagin 7 that appeared to show a blue screen in the background, with Priyanka standing at the extreme left of the frame. The moment was part of an action sequence in which Ahana (played by Priyanka) was meant to take down her enemies. One Reddit user wrote, "I thought my stream glitched but this is literally a full blue screen setup with visible wires and actors just lying there lol. This looks like raw VFX footage, not a finished episode. Has anyone else noticed this or is my app bugging?"

Other users also commented on the scene. One person wrote, "Unedited vfx.... VFX???? Do they even do this??? Like this is more surprising to me. Maybe they are trying to prove that they do put a little effort in editing and not 100% rely on AI." Another said, "I was caught soooo off guard when I saw that unedited part."

This is not the first time Ektaa has spoken about criticism around the show’s use of AI and editing. In March, she said on Instagram Stories, "I am getting so much hate for my A.I. episodes." She then turned the camera towards the writers seated in the room and said in a light-hearted manner, "Ye hain woh log! Ye! AI ke bhooke! I am innocent! These 3! Har scene mein aeroplane, ye woh Nahi main hoon! Main. Mujhe chahiye dragon, plane, with no budget (These are the people responsible for it! Every scene has to have aeroplane and what not. Actually I am the one responsible! I want dragons and planes with no budget)."

Naagin 7 is the seventh season of one of Indian television’s longest-running franchises. The story follows a shape-shifting naagin who sets out to save the world while avenging her family’s murder, while also facing a dragon, the main antagonist this season. The series also features Namik Paul and Kanika Mann in key roles and is streaming on JioHotstar. Ektaa’s latest response comes after the episode’s editing error sparked widespread discussion online.
