Andhra liquor scam: YSRCP MP slams TDP, alleges vendetta politics

A political conflict is escalating in Andhra Pradesh over an alleged liquor scam. Following the arrest of a YSRCP MP, fellow party MP Vaivi Subba Reddy accused the ruling TDP of engaging in "diversion politics". Reddy claims the scam is fabricated and a form of political revenge. He stated, "They are doing it to take political vendetta. Targeting our YSR Congress party leaders, especially MPs." According to Reddy, there is an attempt to involve YSRCP President Jagan Mohan Reddy in what he calls a "totally fabricated scam" with no proof. He contrasted the TDP's 2014-19 liquor policy, which involved about 4,300 private shops and 40,000 belt shops, with the YSRCP's "total transparency policy" during its 2019-24 tenure.
