Akhilesh Yadav's '2 stool' jibe at UP Deputy CMs gets BJP's 'fit-hit' comeback
Yadav shared a 42-second video showing the two BJP leaders walking together, captioned, "two stools do not make a chair." The clip featured background music from a classic Bollywood film, with lyrics warning people to beware of cheaters and wrongdoers.

The political temperature in Uttar Pradesh rose on Saturday after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav took a swipe at the state’s two Deputy Chief Ministers on X.
Yadav shared a 42-second video showing the two BJP leaders walking together, captioned, “two stools do not make a chair.” The clip featured background music from a classic Bollywood film, with lyrics warning people to beware of cheaters and wrongdoers.
His post sparked a fresh round of sharp exchanges between the two Deputy Chief Ministers and the Samajwadi Party supremo.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was the first to hit back, saying their partnership represents public trust and development.
“It is entirely justified for you to be intimidated by a fit and hit pair,” he said, adding that he represents the lineage of Emperor Chandragupta Maurya and is committed to the idea of an undivided India inspired by his ideals.
He also claimed that people in Uttar Pradesh have not forgotten the alleged systematic atrocities against Kushwaha, Maurya, Saini and other weaker sections under the Samajwadi Party.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said the opposition was rattled by the “super duo” representing a "new Uttar Pradesh".
“We believe more in working on the ground than in words,” Pathak said, adding that appeasement and “dirty politics” continue to define the Samajwadi Party’s approach and that the public is well aware of it.
Both leaders concluded by saying that the people would respond to Yadav’s charges at the right time, in an apparent reference to the 2027 Assembly elections.
With the Assembly elections less than a year away, the political atmosphere in the state is heating up, and this war of words on X has further intensified the contest.
