Delhi Gasps! BJP's Sirsa Alleges 'Plot by AAP to Malign Hindus and Defame Diwali'

This special report focuses on Delhi's severe air pollution crisis and the escalating political blame game between the BJP's Manjinder Singh Sirsa and the Aam Aadmi Party's Saurabh Bharadwaj. Sirsa has alleged that 'pollution is rising due to Farali burning, calling it a plot by Aam Aadmi Party to malign Hindus and defame Diwali'. In response, AAP slammed the accusation as shameful, pointing to data showing a significant reduction in stubble burning in Punjab and questioning how it could be responsible for Delhi's 'severe' AQI when Punjab's own AQI remained 'moderate'. The Congress has criticised both parties for a failure in governance. This comes as data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) confirms that Delhi's air quality plunged to the 'very poor' and 'severe' categories post-Diwali, with PM2.5 levels hitting a five-year high despite a reported 77% drop in farm fires.
