Nandigram result row: Calcutta HC issues notices to Suvendu Adhikari, returning officer, EC

The Calcutta High Court has issued notices to Suvendu Adhikari, returning officer and the Election Commission (EC) after West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee challenged the Nandigram election result.

The HC also directed the EC to preserve all election papers, devices and video recordings of the elections.

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari had defeated Mamata Banerjee by 1956 votes. Mamata Banerjee had alleged foul play by the BJP leader and also accused the Election commission of malpractice on the counting day.
