Pubs in Delhi to reopen from September 9

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has cleared Arvind Kejriwal government's proposal to reopen bars in the national capital from September 9.

Announcing the reopening of bars and pubs from September, the Delhi government also released a set of SoPs for people. Liquor-serving establishments will only be permitted to open in non-containment zones.

Under the latest directive, hotels, restaurants and clubs in Delhi will be permitted to serve liquor from next week. The permission has been given on a trial basis from September 9 to September 30.

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony.
