Divya Dutta has opened up about Shah Rukh Khan’s off-screen personality, highlighting what she calls his “wow factor.” The actor said it lies in his thoughtful and sensitive nature, along with the way he treats people around him with warmth and care. She also recalled fond memories from their time together, including a light-hearted flight incident that left a lasting impression on her.
Speaking during an interaction with Humans of Bombay, Divya reflected on SRK’s journey and outlook on life, saying, “My reading of Shah Rukh is that he has seen loads of ups and downs in his life. The beauty of that he has been a learner. He has made it a mantra of his life that he is going to spread joy around him. How amazing is that?"
She went on to recall a warm and humorous incident from a flight after the IIFA Awards that she says she will never forget. In the memory, she described SRK as a very sensitive person who is always aware of what people around him may need. She recalled travelling from the IIFA awards, where they were playing dumb charades onboard. The group included Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza and herself, along with several male colleagues.
During the journey, her mother was watching Gangs of Wasseypur, and SRK reportedly placed his hand on the screen and moved it thrice to enact something. She reflected that while she felt she might have been scolded in such a situation, her mother did not react and was instead very happy that SRK acknowledged her.
"There were 3 of us women. When we got off the flight he had a crazy following. There were people and security. There was a huge crowd cheering: ‘Shah Rukh!’ He waited for all of us to leave in our respective cars. How can you forget things like that? That’s Shah Rukh. It is a wow factor," She added.
Divya also spoke about her collaboration with him in Veer-Zaara, which she described as an important turning point in her career. Her role as Shabbo earned her strong appreciation and helped her stand out in the industry.
