You should go home: How Ruturaj Gaikwad sparked Overton-Tilak clash during MI vs CSK

Did Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad incite the altercation between Jamie Overton and Tilak Varma during the MI vs CSK clash at the Wankhede? The England all-rounder has revealed the role that Ruturaj played in his war of words with Tilak during a CSK event with kids.
The incident between Tilak Varma and Jamie Overton unfolded after the final ball of the 10th over of the Mumbai innings during the match on April 23, when tempers flared briefly.
Tilak nudged the ball to mid-wicket and looked for a second, but was sent back by Suryakumar Yadav. While returning, he had to swerve past Overton at the non-striker’s end, triggering a heated exchange between the two. Suryakumar and the umpires quickly stepped in to calm things down.
However, both players were later seen embracing during the post-match handshakes, signalling that all was well despite the earlier confrontation.
While attending the CSK event, Overton was asked by a young fan about what actually happened between him and Tilak. The CSK all-rounder quickly put his captain on the spotlight.
“No, no, no. Maybe you should ask Rutu because he was the one causing it. On the previous ball...” said Overton.
Ruturaj then revealed that he was hit for a four by Tilak off the previous ball and he told the all-rounder that he should go home and not play in the IPL. The CSK skipper said that this angered Overton, who then had some choice words to say to Tilak.
"Tilak hit him for four, so I told him, ‘You are bowling very badly. You shouldn’t be here, you should go home.’ That made him angry, and he said a few good words to Tilak, and then they started fighting. As he is from England, he says a lot of good words," said Ruturaj.

Overton has been one of the key players for CSK this season as they remain in the hunt for a playoff spot. The England all-rounder has picked up 10 wickets from eight matches. There was one more moment between him and Tilak when he broke the wristband of the MI star with a fiery delivery in the reverse fixture.
CSK will face DC in their next IPL match on May 5 in New Delhi.
