Suryakumar Yadav and wife Devisha Shetty welcome baby girl
IPL 2026: Suryakumar Yadav and Devisha Shetty have welcomed a baby girl during the IPL season. The news has drawn wishes from across cricket and left Mumbai Indians awaiting clarity on his next-game availability.

Suryakumar Yadav and his wife Devisha Shetty have welcomed a baby girl, with congratulatory messages pouring in from across the cricketing world for the India T20I captain and his family. The couple, who got married in July 2016, celebrated their baby shower in March this year.
The news comes in the middle of IPL 2026, with Suryakumar currently part of the Mumbai Indians setup. The star batter reportedly stayed back from travelling with the squad to Raipur earlier this week because of family commitments surrounding the birth of his child.

Over the years, Devisha has remained a constant presence through Surya’s rise from domestic cricket regular to one of India’s biggest T20 stars and now the national T20 captain.
The couple have also remained hugely popular with fans for their social media presence, with Devisha often travelling alongside Suryakumar during tours and IPL seasons.
And now, amid all the chaos of an IPL season and Mumbai Indians’ playoff fight, the Yadav household has a much happier reason to celebrate.
WILL SURYAKUMAR YADAV PLAY RCB VS MI?
Mumbai Indians are yet to officially confirm whether Suryakumar will be available for their crucial IPL 2026 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 10.
The timing of the birth has naturally created uncertainty around his immediate return to the squad, especially with MI currently travelling ahead of the game in Raipur.
Suryakumar had led Mumbai in their previous match against Lucknow Super Giants after regular captain Hardik Pandya missed the game because of a back spasm.
Under Surya’s captaincy, Mumbai comfortably chased down 229, with Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton starring in the massive chase.
However, with Hardik still recovering and Suryakumar now away on family duty, MI could potentially require another stand-in captain against RCB, with Jasprit Bumrah emerging as the leading option if needed.
