Darjeeling unrest: Tourism information office set ablaze on Chowrasta

Pro-Gorkhaland supporters set ablaze a tourism information office on Chowrasta in Darjeeling. The arson took place laste last night.

On Wednesday, pro-Gorkhaland supporters had set ablaze a panchayat office and damaged a few government vehicles on the 28th day of the indefinite shutdown.

The agitation spearhead Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) took out a rally at Chowkbazar with the body of Ashok Tamang, who died last night in a hospital where he was admitted after being allegedly injured in Saturdays clashes between the police and GJM supporters.
