Dogs in gowns, cats in pearls, this Pet Gala is the internet's new obsession
A viral Pet Gala video showed dogs and cats parading in elaborate fashion looks. Social media users said the furry showcase outshone the Met Gala and praised its styling.

While the world obsessed over the glamour, drama, and designer outfits at the Met Gala, social media users found themselves equally captivated by something far fluffier, the now-viral “Pet Gala,” where dogs and cats arrived dressed like four-legged fashion royalty.
The adorable video, originally shared by the Instagram account of Mochi The Doxie, showcased a parade of pets dressed in extravagant outfits that many viewers joked were “better styled” than the celebrities at the actual Met Gala.
In the clip, several dogs strutted across a red carpet-like setup wearing dramatic gowns, layered dresses, pearl accessories, tuxedos, capes, bows, and tiny hats.
Some pets were dressed in coordinated couture-inspired looks complete with gloves and jewellery, while others sported miniature fashion pieces inspired by iconic celebrity outfits seen at high-profile events.
Cats, too, joined in on the glamorous chaos, appearing in elegant costumes and decorative accessories as photographers and pet owners captured the over-the-top looks. One tiny dog in particular caught viewers’ attention with a theatrical outfit that social media users compared to the iconic Maison Margiela-inspired look worn by Zendaya at this year’s Met Gala.
The video also featured behind-the-scenes moments of pets being carried around in style, posing for photographs, and confidently walking around as attendees laughed and admired the tiny “fashion icons.”
Sharing the clip online, the page captioned it, “Forget the Met Gala, the place to be is the Pet Gala!”

Online, viewers were completely obsessed with the furry fashion showcase. Many users jokingly declared the Pet Gala “far superior” to the real Met Gala, with some saying the animals looked “more glamorous and chic” than many celebrity attendees.
Others hilariously analysed the pets’ outfits like actual fashion critics, pointing out references to luxury designer looks and celebrity ensembles. One commenter specifically joked that the first dog’s outfit appeared inspired by Maison Margiela and Zendaya’s look, calling it “iconic.”
Meanwhile, photographers and pet lovers who attended the event shared that they had “the best time” capturing the tiny fashion stars, while several users said they were already hoping for an invitation to next year’s Pet Gala.
