Vinod Kambli's 'jinko life mein thoda kam mila hai' ice cream ad moves fans to tears
The Dinshaw's ice cream advertisement, which comes amid Vinod Kambli's ongoing health struggles, shows the cricketer seated on a bench in a playground, watching children play cricket.

After months of speculation around his health, former India cricketer Vinod Kambli’s appearance in an advertisement for ice cream brand Dinshaw's has left fans emotional.
The Dinshaw's advertisement, which comes amid Kambli’s ongoing health struggles, shows the cricketer seated on a bench at a playground, watching children play cricket.
In a reflective tone, he delivers a line that has resonated widely: “Jinko life mein thoda kam mila hai, unke liye thoda zyaada. Teen guna zyaada (For those who have received a little less in life, a little more for them. Three times more)," before enjoying an ice cream cone.

The simple yet poignant setting, coupled with Kambli’s voice, has prompted an outpouring of emotion online.
“Happy to see this ad and the casting,” one user wrote, while another said, “The ad itself speaks so much more than just what it was made for. Amazing.”
Several comments highlighted the cricketer’s journey and resilience: “There is no predefined age and time to make a comeback and become successful, Kambli you keep inspiring people.”
Another user added, “Lovely. Happy to see him. I will switch over to this ice cream brand just because of Vinod Kambli.” One particularly emotional response read, “Kambli’s voice made me cry.”
Through a separate Dinshaw’s ad, Kambli also wished Sachin Tendulkar on his 53rd birthday.
Kambli, who has been dealing with health issues for some time, has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks. He is reportedly able to walk more comfortably, has resumed light professional commitments — including the recent advertisement shoot — and continues regular medical check-ups.
Support has also come from close friends and former teammates. Tendulkar is said to have joined a WhatsApp group created by Kambli’s longtime friend Marcus Couto, aimed at offering financial and emotional support. The group includes former cricketers and well-wishers rallying around the former batter.
Vinod Kambli currently spends most of his time at home with family, occasionally visiting care centres in Thane, as he continues his recovery - a journey that, as the response to his latest advertisement shows, many are closely and emotionally invested in.
