The political situation in Tamil Nadu remains unresolved as Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam leader Vijay struggles to reach the majority mark of 118 seats to form the government. Currently holding 116 signatures, the TVK requires the support of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, which has two MLAs. However, the VCK has withheld its official letter of support, introducing a late-night twist to the government formation process. VCK chief Thirumavalavan has reportedly demanded the Deputy Chief Minister post as a condition for backing the TVK. While the Left parties and the Congress have agreed to support Vijay, the VCK remains non-committal and has announced it will clarify its stance tomorrow morning. Thirumavalavan also met with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief MK Stalin recently. Meanwhile, Vijay has faced setbacks after visiting the Governor multiple times without the required 118 physical signatures. If the TVK fails to secure the necessary numbers, the party may approach the Supreme Court to assert its constitutional right as the single largest party in the state.
