Amit Shah releases BJP's manifesto for Bengal, promises UCC, Rs 3000 aid for women

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its 'Sankalp Patra' for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections, outlining a comprehensive roadmap for the state's development. Union Minister Amit Shah presented the manifesto, describing the last 15 years of TMC rule as a "nightmare" marked by corruption, infiltration, and fear. Key promises include the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within six months, a zero-tolerance policy towards infiltration with a 'detect, delete, and deport' strategy, and a 33% reservation for women in state government jobs. The party pledged ₹3,000 monthly financial assistance to women and unemployed youth, alongside an 11-fold increase in the procurement price of paddy to ₹3,100. The manifesto also highlights plans for three white papers on corruption, political violence, and law and order. Additional commitments include implementing the 7th Pay Commission for state employees within 45 days and establishing new AIIMS, IIT, and IIM facilities in North Bengal to ensure equitable regional growth.
