Made in India trailer: Naseeruddin Shah, Jim Sarbh bring Titan's legacy alive

The trailer of Naseeruddin Shah, Jim Sarbh's six-part drama, Made in India – A Titan Story, was unveiled on May 26. The upcoming show is adapted from Vinay Kamath’s book Titan – India’s Most Successful Consumer Brand.

Made in India - A Titan Story, is inspired by the journey behind Titan, one of India’s most recognised consumer brands. The series features Naseeruddin Shah as JRD Tata and Jim Sarbh as Xerxes Desai, with Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Namita Dubey, Lakshvir Saran and Kaveri Seth in key roles.

Set in pre-liberalised India, Made in India: A Titan Story follows the rise of the iconic watch brand through the eyes of Xerxes Desai. The trailer captures a time when the country stood on the brink of major economic and social change, showing how a simple idea to build a homegrown Indian brand grew into a massive success.

Despite facing institutional resistance and uncertainty, Xerxes Desai and JRD Tata remained determined to prove that India could design and manufacture its own high-quality products. Ultimately, the series reflects the foundational spirit of the country's manufacturing and design ambitions.

Naseeruddin Shah, who plays JRD Tata in the series, said, "What fascinated me about JRD Tata was not just his vision, but the quiet confidence with which he inspired people to dream bigger than they thought possible. He had an extraordinary ability to spot potential and nurture it with trust, something that feels increasingly rare."

While speaking about portraying Xerxes Desai, Jim Sarbh said, "Xerxes Desai struck me as someone who was quietly rebellious, someone unafraid to challenge convention and imagine what didn’t yet exist."

The upcoming show is written by Karan Vyas, directed by Robbie Grewal and produced by Almighty Motion Pictures.

Made in India - A Titan Story is set to release on Amazon MX Player from June 3, 2026.
