You're dark, I deserve better: Madhya Pradesh woman kills husband with lover's help
During the probe, the victim's family said the marriage was troubled and marked by frequent arguments, alleging the accused women, Priyanka, often taunted her husband, including over his appearance.

A murder initially believed to be the result of a late-night robbery in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district has taken a disturbing turn, with police alleging it was a premeditated conspiracy involving the victim’s wife and her lover.
The case from Gondikheda village first surfaced when Priyanka claimed that unidentified intruders had entered her home at night, attacked her, and killed her husband, Devkrishna, before fleeing. She was found crying at the scene, with the house ransacked.
However, investigators later uncovered what they describe as a staged crime scene and a planned killing.
During the probe, statements from the victim’s family suggested the marriage had been strained, with frequent arguments. Devkrishna’s family members allege that Priyanka often taunted him over his skin colour, reportedly saying, “Tum kaale ho (you’re dark), I deserve better”, and asking for a divorce on multiple occasions.
As per the police, Priyanka had been in a relationship with Kamlesh since 2020. Investigators alleged that the two conspired to kill Devkrishna and later attempted to pass off the killing as a robbery.
According to officials, Kamlesh roped in an associate, Surendra, and a contract of around Rs 1 lakh was agreed upon to carry out the killing.
The plan, according to the police, was executed at night while the victim was asleep, minimising the chance of resistance. Devkrishna was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon and died on the spot.
To cover up the crime, the accused allegedly staged a robbery scene—scattering household items and tying Priyanka up. She then raised an alarm to support the fabricated version of events.
Within 36 hours, police claimed to have cracked the case. While Priyanka and Kamlesh have been arrested, efforts are underway to trace the third, Surendra.
Dhar Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi said, “The scene was created to mislead the investigation. Evidence and questioning revealed a planned conspiracy involving the wife and her associate,” he said.
