Varun Dhawan's Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has moved back to its original release date and will now hit screens on June 5. The announcement was made on Wednesday, about an hour after Yash said that his film Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups had been pushed, leaving the June 5 slot open for the David Dhawan directorial.
The romantic comedy, which also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, had earlier been brought forward to May 22. That change was announced on the day Yash said Toxic had been postponed to June 5 following Dhurandhar 2's massive box office run. With the latest shift, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is set to be the first big Bollywood release after the IPL season.
The film also marks the reunion of Varun Dhawan and David Dhawan. It is positioned as a romantic comedy with a mix of romance, comedy and high-energy entertainment.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is produced by Tips Films Ltd and co-produced by Maximillian Films (UK). The cast also includes Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Sheirgill, Chunky Pandey, Rakesh Bedi, Mouni Roy and Rajesh Kumar, among others.
