Vijay Deverakonda on Kabir Singh: I wish blockbuster success to Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani

Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda tasted massive success at the box office with his 2017 film Arjun Reddy. And now two years later, Shahid Kapoor has stepped into his shoes for the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy - Kabir Singh. As the film hits the screens today, Vijay Deverakonda has wished immense success to Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani for their film.

Vijay Deverakonda took to Twitter to praise director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for his "passion for storytelling" and also wished massive success to actors of Kabir Singh.

He wrote, "Kabir Singh - for me @imvangasandeep and his ability, vision & passion for storytelling is greater than any box-office success he can see. And in him I've found a fireplace for my energy and vision. I wish massive blockbuster success to @shahidkapoor and @Advani_Kiara."

Arjun Reddy had Vijay Deverakonda play the role of a medical student who goes down the road of self-destruction post a failed relationship. And for Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor has stepped into his shoes.

It is for the first time that Shahid Kapoor will be seen in a remake. Talking about choosing Kabir Singh, he said that he wanted to bring Arjun Reddy to national audience.

"I don't usually do remakes. Kabir Singh is my first remake of my career. We see films through box office number, like this film earned a lot toh remake karlo. But for Kabir Singh, I heard that people loved it a lot. Many people came and told me that they were really affected by the film, it was one of their favourite films and when I saw it, I felt the same," Shahid said at Delhi presser.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film also stars Kiara Advani.
