Air India

Air India is the flag carrier airline of India, headquartered in New Delhi. Founded in 1932 by J.R.D. Tata as Tata Air Services, it became Air India in 1946 and was nationalized in 1953. The airline operates a fleet of wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, offering domestic and international services to over 100 destinations across Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia.

Known for its Maharaja mascot and traditional Indian hospitality, Air India has played a significant role in connecting India with the world. It was a member of the Star Alliance network until its privatization. In 2022, the Government of India sold the airline back to Tata Group, marking a historic return to its original founders. Under Tata's leadership, Air India has embarked on an ambitious transformation plan aimed at fleet modernization, service improvements, and integration with other Tata aviation entities like Vistara and AirAsia India.
