Senior journalist Gauri Lankesh, a well-known critic of right wing forces, was shot dead at her house in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Gauri Lankesh, the editor of the weekly Kannada tabloid magazine Lankesh Patrike, was last year convicted in a defamation case filed by BJP MP Pralhad Joshi.

Lankesh begins this talk by discussing Karnataka's trajectory "from a progressive, secular state to a communal state."
