India, US sign fighter jet engine deal, GE to make jet engines for Indian Air Force

Amid Prime Minister Narendra Modi's US state visit, India has signed a mega fighter jet deal with the US. According to the deal, GE and HAL will build fighter jet engines for the Indian Air Force.

GE Aerospace today announced that it has signed an agreement with state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to produce fighter jet engines for the Indian Air Force.

The American aerospace called the agreement a major milestone that was reached amid Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the United States, adding that it would be a key element in strengthening defence cooperation between the two countries.
