It was raining 'jai shri ram' chants in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday as the leaders took oath as members of the house. Not just jai shri ram, but, 'vande mataram', 'bharat mata ki jai', and even the "mandir wahi banayenge" slogan was vociferously raised in the parliament. As Asaduddin Owaisi walked down to take oath as MP, the chants went to dare. Even Congress leader Sonia Gandhi was not spared, slogans kept heckling her while she took oath as an MP.
The slogan raising and chanting have raised serious questions over the decorum in the parliament. The trend that started after Mamata Banerjee lost her cool in West Bengal over jai shri ram chants has reached a whole new level.
