US president Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have become the first to conduct a one-on-one meet over an unprecedented development after a year of exchanging threats.

The two shook hands in the meeting at a luxury hotel in Singapore's Sentosa island after months of diplomatic twists and turns.

They are having a deligation level talks, discussing defusing tensions and nuclear disarmament.
