In this episode of 'India First', former Indian cricketer and World Cup winner Madan Lal joined a panel to discuss the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) recent decision to participate in the T20 World Cup after initial boycott threats. Lal criticised the PCB's pattern of posturing followed by what he termed a "habit of surrendering," questioning the credibility of Mohsin Naqvi and the Pakistani government. He stated, "Pakistan has a habit of surrendering," and argued that the U-turn was driven by the fear of massive financial losses, noting that "cricket does not run without money." The discussion highlighted how Pakistan allegedly held the cricketing ecosystem to ransom over issues involving Bangladesh, only to relent when faced with ICC sanctions and revenue hits. Lal suggested that the ICC must teach Pakistan a lesson to ensure no single nation can disrupt international tournaments through blackmail. The panel, including sports editors Vikrant Gupta and Nikhil Naz, debated the need for a firmer stance against the PCB's 'double standards' and 'bluff' tactics.
